Biography
Tom Clancy was an American novelist best known for his technically detailed espionage and military science storylines. Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1947, his debut novel The Hunt for Red October was published in 1984 and became a surprise bestseller after being praised by President Reagan. Clancy went on to create the iconic Jack Ryan character and spawned a massive entertainment franchise spanning novels, films, and video games. His works sold over 100 million copies worldwide before his death in 2013.
